GOW 2019 REPORT

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN 2019

I’m writing this letter on behalf of GOW Foundation and our students to say thank you for your support in the past year. You were part of the incredible things God did through GOW Foundation in 2019. GOW is rapidly evolving into a reliable source of finances for students who have so much potential but very limited resources. We take pride knowing your generosity has impacted the success GOW experienced thus far.

By November of 2019, we had completed funding 7 students. Five of the students were funded under our GOW scholarship award program. This versatile scholarship program funds applicants on a term-by-term basis with the goal of fully funding a student for one term, therefore allowing the parents to leverage GOW and save for subsequent educational costs. We have learned that Kenyan parents are very resourceful, and this funding method significantly allows majority of parents to bounce right back into their responsibility of educating their children, at the same time allowing other students in need to get an opportunity to be funded.

Two of the students received GOW Legacy Scholarship Award, which is a long-term scholarship that once awarded, supports the student throughout their high school life till graduation. This award is solely based on financial need. To qualify for the GOW Legacy Scholarship Award, one must first be GOW Scholarship Award recipient. Majority of our fund-raising effort is focused on growing our capacity for GOW Legacy Scholarship students, and we believe God will continue to grow GOW toward accomplishing this vision.

Despite our short existence as an educational charity, GOW is already having a positive impact among our scholars. Together with more than 600,000 students, two of our students successfully sat the Kenyan National Exam (KCSE) and were tested in their knowledge in 8 key subjects; including, English, math, geography and sciences. We are proud to report they both passed. One with an outstanding score of B+ and the second one scored C.

We are so grateful for your generosity. You have made a difference. I can’t wait to see what God is going to continue doing through the GOW as we strive to make it possible for more Kenyan students to complete their high school education.
