GOW FOUNDATION MISSION

Mission Narrative
GOW Foundation primary mission is to provide Kenyan high school students from poor families an opportunity to complete their education without facing financial difficulty.
Provide scholarships to financially-challenged students
Provide academic material support when possible
Empower families by educating the youth to become productive members of the family.
Spreading educational opportunity to all students we touch and giving them an opportunity to compete with their more privileged peers in life.
At GOW Foundation, we believe, given adequate opportunity, every young man or young woman has the potential to make our world a better place. We believe in the sentiments about the importance of education expressed by Nelson Mandela, the first African President of South Africa, one of Africa’s greatest freedom fighters, symbol of moral courage and great leadership. Mandela believed education was key to personal growth and that its a key element to lifting up of any group of people our of poverty.
His views are captured in this quote.
“Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mine worker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation.”
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
