Project Description
ABOUT GOW LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP
GOW Legacy Scholarship is a full scholarship awarded to students throughout their life as high school students. The students are expected to maintain a passing grade to keep the award. To be a Legacy Scholar, one must first be a GOW Scholarship recipient.
The students are chosen after interviews and evaluation of their financial needs.
The goal for GOW Legacy Scholarship is to ensure students from financially disadvantaged homes receive uninterrupted high school education. GOW Foundation pays their school fees and stays in touch with the students and the school to provide them with moral support.
This year GOW Foundation Legacy Scholars graduated and got accepted to Universities. They are:
- James Odida Andiego – graduated from Siaya Central Secondary School and admitted to Moi University Eldoret
- Christopher Onyango – graduated from Agoro Sare High School admitted to Masinde Muliro University Kakamega
- Christine Mitchel Hayombe – graduated from Nyamira girls high School and admitted to Kisii University
We are continuing our effort to recruit high school students in all Kenyan regions. So far we have students in Nyanza, Western and Nairobi regions.
More About GOW Legacy Award
GOW Legacy award is a comprehensive scholarship award synonymous to a full-ride scholarship award.
This scholarship is open for application on a yearly basis and is designed for Scholars award recipients who have been established to come from impoverished families and have high potential of success but are limited only by their ability to pay for school fees.
This scholarship adopts a scholar’s award student at their current grade and supports them until they graduate from high school. GOW Foundation’s goal is to raise funds to allow the majority of the scholars that fit the criteria to be converted to Legacy award recipients.
